Is my donation tax-deductible?

All gifts made through the platform are tax deductible gifts to the University of Washington, which is a governmental tax-exempt entity. Donations are tax-deductible by donors under IRS code IRC §170.

Where is my donation going?

Your donation will be deposited with the University of Washington and distributed to the program lab, or department leading your selected project. Gifts are subject to university policies.

Do donations go completely to the project team?

100 percent of all funds raised by your project campaign will be designated directly to your account, even if you don’t reach your goal. There are no program costs or fees.

What happens if a campaign doesn’t meet its funding goal?

If a project does not meet its funding goal, collected funds may be used to support the current project or other initiatives within the program that most closely align with the original purpose of the gift.

What happens if a campaign is overfunded?

If a project exceeds its funding goal, additional project funds beyond the stated goal amount may be used to further the project. Any funds available after the project ends may be used to benefit other projects within the program that are closely aligned with the original intent of the gift.
