UW Human Powered Submarine 2018

UW Human Powered Submarine 2018

The UW Human Powered Submarine team is a group of dedicated, passionate engineering students from all over the College of Engineering who work together each year to design, build, and race a human powered submarine. This summer, we will be competing in Gosport, England against other universities from around the world at the 4th Biennial European International Submarine Races. Last year, the team took home 1st place in our category, 2nd overall in innovation, and continued as the best American team for the 4th year in a row. This year, we are working with our two-person submarine, Knotty Dawg, and are looking forward to building a new controls system, drivetrain, propulsion system, and hull features. In order to make all this possible, we need your help!

Engineering Student Film Contest

Engineers do amazing work to solve increasingly complex societal challenges. Please help the next generation of engineers get the public communication training to become master storytellers. There is a myth that engineers cannot tell stories using film that can move people to action or gain a deeper appreciation. This campaign is about organizing a bi-annual (every 2 years) Student Film Contest for Engineering Majors with deep collaboration from Liberal Arts majors. The contest will help engineering students master public communication and audio-visual story telling with empathy and passion through their unique lenses as only they can tell. So please support our campaign to help our engineering students tell great stories using film and arts

UW Concrete Canoe 2016: Can-oe Believe We're Going to Nationals!?

The UW Concrete Canoe Team is a passionate group of young individuals, mostly Civil Engineers, who design, build, and race a canoe made of concrete at the National American Society of Civil Engineers competition. Our goal is to promote collaboration amongst students by providing an environment where students can get real hands-on experience and work with collegiate engineers. We raced past our competitors, winning most of the paddling races, to earn first place at the Pacific Northwest Regional Conference this year! All this hard work earned us a spot at the National Competition; however there are many traveling expenses to participate at the June 9-11th National Competition at the University of Texas at Tyler in Tyler, Texas. We sincerely appreciate all of your support, we know that none of our success could be possible without your help!
